The foundation stone was laid on 04.06.2026 for the Vehicle Revenue License Division to be
constructed at the Kotawehera Divisional Secretariat under the guidance of the Chief Secretary
of the North-West and the Deputy Chief Secretary (Finance) at the request of the Kotawehera
Divisional Secretary, Mr. Nandana Mahipala

Non-communicable Disease and Dental Clinic conducted by the Kotawehera Clean Sri Lanka
Committee at the Monnakulama Temple on 11.06.2026.

2026 - August                                                                                                                                      
The moment the new building at the Kotavehera Divisional Secretariat comprising facilities for
issuing vehicle revenue licenses, registering service seekers, and a shroff counter was opened
for the public at an auspicious time on August 19, 2026. This project was undertaken at the
request of Kotavehera Divisional Secretary Mr. Nandana Mahipala, under the guidance of the
Chief Secretary and the Deputy Chief Secretary (Finance) of the North Western Province.

The “Lipigonuwe Sonduru Minisa” Programme, held on 31 August 2026 at the newly constructed
outdoor amphitheatre of the office.

Kurunegala District Cleanliness Programme
Towards a Clean Environment through Public Participation
A Clean Sri Lanka programme was conducted under the patronage of the Hon. Governor of the North
Western Province from 8.00 a.m. on 19 September 2026. As part of this programme, an
environmental clean-up campaign was successfully carried out in the Nagala Grama Niladhari
Division of the Kotavehera Divisional Secretariat Division with the participation of the public.

Coinciding with this programme, the newly renovated Sewa Piyasa (Service Centre)
was also ceremonially opened.
